About
My yoga journey was first inspired by my Grandma Sue, who was the first yoga teacher in my family.
She passed down her love and knowledge of yoga to my mother, who passed it to down to me and my siblings. As a retired Division 1 college athlete, I found myself in immense pain after putting my body through so much mental and physical stress, which is what brought me to my regular yoga practice at The Yoga Studio in Indianapolis, IN. Once I truly experienced the power of yoga and my ability to restore my mind and body, I became hooked and decided to complete my RYT200 through The Yoga Studio in Indianapolis. Outside of yoga, I have worked in education for 10 years, and currently serve as Director of College Counseling at a private high school in Indiana. After witnessing the high stress and anxiety levels in teens, I became passionate about sharing yoga with young people. With the help of local teachers, I developed a 3-week course called "Yoga: Mind-Body Connection," and enrolled 23 students who together explored the many facets of yoga and its benefits relating to coping with stress. At the end of the 3-week course we traveled as a group to Nosara, Costa Rica and experienced the "pura vida" lifestyle of yoga on and off the mat. After this 3-week course, my school approved the implementation of "Advanced Physical Education: Yoga and Mindfulness," giving me the platform to integrate yoga into the daily school curriculum for my teenage students. I am passionate about sharing yoga with everyone, but especially athletes and young people. It is a true honor and privilege to be a student and teacher of this ancient practice and every class I learn something new from my teachers and my students. The light, love, darkness and divinity in me, sees, honors, and bows to that within you. Namaste, -Lade
