About
Alisha came to yoga to connect with her heritage.
Born in India and raised in the United States, she grew up balancing competing cultures, values, and expectations. Alisha’s multicultural upbringing sparked her lifelong interest in learning how we each live with more kindness and become an active participant in our own existence. She teaches an all-levels yoga & meditation class that emphasizes breath-linking and functional movement as well as curious exploration of the shapes and emotional journey in each practice. She has significant experience teaching special populations, including beginners and pregnant and postpartum people. Alisha strives to empower her students to discover themselves on the mat through inquiry, reflection, and presence. In addition to teaching, Alisha formerly owned Yoga NoMa – a community-oriented studio where practitioners from all walks of life were welcome regardless of abilities or age.Alisha has studied extensively with April Puciata, Dr. Ariele Foster, Alicia Moyer, Chris Parkison, and Julia Romano.Completed TrainingYoga International: Trainings with Various InstructorsBeyond OM: Modern Day Goddess Mentorship with April Puciata, Shakti Inspired Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with April PuciataPast Tense Yoga Studio: The Path of the Practiced Teacher with Alicia Moyer, Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Lindsey UhrigWillow Street Yoga: Rest for All: Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Tara Lemerise, Pelvic Floor Yoga Teacher Training with Leslie HowardVIDA Fitness: Whole Yogi Yoga Teacher Training with Julia Romano and Chris Parkison
