About

Allison Parks Dugas has been teaching yoga since 2010 and is registered with the Yoga Alliance.

She is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute of NH's 200-hour and advanced 300 hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training programs and has completed an additional 300 hour training in the comprehensive therapeutic benefits of yoga at Yogalife. She began her yoga journey in 1999 studying Ashtanga and vinyasa-style yoga. She was drawn to the benefits of a physical practice. When she discovered the YogaLife Institute’s Teacher Training program, she was at a different place in her life, married with two small children, she wanted to prioritize her self-care and expand her understanding of yoga to help her navigate life better. This deeper dive into yoga included not only the physical practices but also the mental, spiritual and philosophical elements as well as a gentler form. She believes yoga has been a gift in her life. It has helped her to feel whole and at peace despite what goes on around her. It has helped her understand suffering and apply the tools of yoga to help ease and transform it. Prior to teaching yoga, Allison earned her masters degree in Elementary Education and was a 4th grade teacher. Being a former gymnast and figure skater, Allison has gravitated toward exploring the relationship of how the body, breath and mind relate to one another and how they are a vehicle to connect to our true nature, our authentic self. Yoga has truly been a gift to her and she enjoys sharing that gift with others in her studio classes, workshops, one-on-one and as a senior teacher in the Yogalife teacher training programs. Even off her mat she continues to practice yoga by bringing the tools and benefits she has gained from the practice into her day-to-day life.
