I'm Alyssa, born and raised in Colorado, and now firmly planted in the vibrant community of Tucson, AZ.
My journey into yoga began in 2018, and it has been a transformative path of self-discovery and growth ever since. Beyond my yoga mat, I come with a diverse background as I am an industrial engineer with an MBA and MS in Business Analytics. Yoga is the grounding, creative outlet I've searched for. I completed my RYT-200 in 2024, under exceptional guidance from Amy DeSylvester and Sean Duffy at Flourish Yoga Tucson. While my teaching encompasses various styles, I deeply resonate with the principles of Yin yoga, which I incorporate into my Vinyasa sequences. This fusion stems from my belief in the importance of low-impact movements—aiming for the safety of my students, fostering a sense of presence and staying present, and enhancing body and self-awareness. As a trauma-informed instructor, I am committed to creating and nurturing soft spaces that invite healing and allow for gentle exploration of one's practice and self. My engineering and analytics background uniquely informs my approach, blending analytical thinking with intuitive feeling, aiming for balance and mindfulness both on and off the mat.
