About
Amanda’s classes focus on deepening awareness of the layers of the body–emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual–through carefully constructed flow sequences and pranayama.
Having come to yoga through The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk, Amanda sees yoga as a transformative method of healing these layers of self, or koshas. As a high school English teacher for ten years, she also loves to incorporate poetry, quotes, and mantras into the practice to create a rich experience for fellow practitioners. She seeks to honor this ancient tradition, and also not take herself too seriously, holding in tension the sacred and the mundane as we collectively move our bodies in pursuit of feeling good, inside and out. She hopes you’ll find her classes a rigorous, joyful, and meaningful place to connect with your authentic self and your yoga community. Amanda trained in San Diego and is RYT-200 certified through Yoga Alliance. Outside of the studio, you can find Amanda frequenting coffee shops, hiking local dog-friendly trails with her Frenchie, cooking her grandmother’s recipes, and reading for hours on end with her kids.
