About
Amy Bowman is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Her teaching style some from a very mindful approach to movement. She aims to find a yoga practice for every body and every level of yogi. She believes there is space for each person seeking a yoga practice to make it their own without the risk of injury. Amy enjoys teaching slow flow practices, Vinyasa and restorative the most but finds herself being flexible to offer different modalities to appeal to a wide variety of student. Amy started practicing yoga as a means to feel more fit and flexible after the birth of her son 13 years ago. Within a couple years her journey transitioned to wanting a more physical practice to escape stress of being an Army wife and raising her son during long deployments on her own. On her mat she found joy, patience, a connection and a sense of calming. Fast forward to the more recent years and now the journey has led Amy to utilizing the more mindful movements and breath work to cope with her Lupus. It has become a means to help combat the pain and muscle/joint tension, sleepless nights and sometimes anxiety that is associated with Lupus. Through her teacher training she soon realized the many pillars of yoga was something she grew passionate about and wanted to give that same feeling to others, to help those seeking a journey of their own.
