Amy completed her 200-hour foundational teacher training at In Balance Yoga in 2017, and her 300-hour with the Kunga Yoga School in 2019, where she studied under Nicole Boyle, Kristin Cooper-Gulak and Noelle Whittington.
She is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Amy is a lifelong resident of Blacksburg, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science from Radford University. She also holds a Master of Science in Education and Health Promotion, as well as, a Master of Public Health from Virginia Tech. She found yoga as a source for self awareness, connection, and relaxation while juggling the responsibilities of working full-time and raising a family. Amy appreciates the physical well-being and the peace and calm that she has discovered through her yoga practice, and is excited and very grateful to be able to share this practice that she loves with others. Amy enjoys teaching hot yoga and vinyasa style classes. Amy is a certified Nu-Power yoga instructor and has completed Level 2 Barkan Method Hot Yoga training with Jimmy Barkan. Amy’s classes provide a welcoming environment where everyone is invited to share their energy and practice. Amy has attended many mindfulness trainings and is a certified Koru Mindfulness Teacher. Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Brad, and sons, Cole and Parker. In her spare time she loves to travel, read, garden, and hike.
