My inspiration for practicing and teaching gentle and restorative yoga is my Grammie Sylvia Plotkin who taught yoga up to the year she passed away at the age of While growing up in Stamford Connecticut Grammie would have us lay on the floor close our eyes notice our breath relax our bodies and guide us in clearing our thoughts She believed in homeopathy and natural cooking When I release into a yoga restorative asana I feel my Grammie there with me I hear her voice and I sense her in my breath This is a photo of Grammie in Scotland gazing out over a loch and convening with nature Biography: Amy Kweskin graduated from The Yoga Rooms -hour Advanced Studies Program in June Through her yoga studies Amy developed an affinity for teaching restoratives; guiding her students to find relaxation relief and renewal  To obtain her Yoga certification she apprenticed for months with Nancy Leigh-Smith of Yoga in the Middle In Amy completed the Veterans Yoga Project Mindful Resilience Training Additionally Amy has a diploma in Neurolinguistic Programming and is a certified personal performance and leadership coach from the Coaching Academy in London  In Amy earned her Doctor of Business Administration from Golden Gate University with a focus on Arts Management  My Vision: We reach our fullest potential by tuning into our body mind and breath My Values: Building a supportive community  Exploring self-understanding Embracing creativity through education My Mission: Guiding life-long learners to reach your fullest potential through creative body mind and breath practices that nurture self-understanding in a supportive community environment.
