Dechen is the owner of the Mystic Yoga Shala, a Baptiste Inspired studio in Mystic, CT opened in 2006.
She has been a teacher of yoga since 1996 after she graduated from the Sivananda Teacher Training Program and after studying with Sharon Gannon and David Life at Jivamukti for 4 years in Manhattan. She currently is a 500 ERYT, RYT Baptiste teacher and continues her studies with Baron Baptiste. Most recently she was accepted into the Faculty in Training program with the Baptiste Institute. She is an abyahsi in the Sri Ram Chandra Mission and has been practicing meditation regularly under the guidance of Sri Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari the president of the mission since 1999.
