I started my yoga practice about 18 years ago right after I had my first hip replaced. I had just ended my professional dancing career with The Radio City Rockettes and wanted to transition into a new career. I had been teaching dance for almost 10 years and decided to take a hot yoga class to help rehab my hip and to give myself more strength and flexibility. What happened was quite miraculous, not only did my hip start to feel better, my whole body took on a major transformation. I felt more confident, more alive and decided to pursue getting trained as a hot yoga teacher. I had my second hip replaced and recovered so quickly because of my avid hot yoga practice My own yoga practice soared and after becoming a hot yoga teacher, I took it to the next level and became the Owner of my own hot yoga/ vinyasa studio. I have been teaching and training teachers ever since. I love teaching every age and every level of student who walks through our door. It has been an amazing journey for me and I want to continue to help and mentor other yoga students and teachers at Ann Yocum Yoga.
