About
I'm a 200 RYT with additional training in yin, yoga nidra, and restorative yoga.
I've also taken training to teach special populations, including seniors. I started practicing yoga when I was 3 with Lilias Yoga and You on my local PBS station with my mom. I explored hot yoga, hatha, and vinyasa flow yoga over the years, enjoying the practices but never diving deeper. It wasn't until the pandemic that I decided to enroll in my local yoga studio's YTT program, which I completed in 2021. In addition to learning more about yoga during that time, I discovered my love for the quieter and slower yoga practices - yin, restorative, and yoga nidra. I personally have found much support in these practices and believe that everyone could benefit from a bit of calm in their day. Then in 2023, after working as a software engineer for almost 30 years, I decided to focus on working as a yoga instructor in my community. I'm happy to offer accessible yoga for all bodies through the City of Aurora recreation centers. I teach a weekly Restorative Yoga class at the Moorhead Rec Center Fridays 11am-12pm. I play calm music during this time, and offer different poses with options, and optional props depending on our weekly theme. You might also find me subbing for one of the other regular yoga flow classes at the recreation centers.
