About
Bonjour, I'm Aparna.
I have been doing yoga for the past 18+ years, but in the past 10+ years, I have delved deeply into the expansive world that is Yoga. This shift is thanks to the wonderful teachers I have had thus far. Initially, I was into Yoga because of the physical challenges that it provided me. Within a short period of time, I was reaping the mental benefits - Yoga has helped me become calmer, happier, and has given me a foundation of inner strength that I can continue to build. As I’m on this journey, I’d like to share my experiences with Yoga with you, my legions of readers, with liberal doses of humor and reality. I am a graduate of the 230 hour Hatha Vinyasa Yoga program from the Innerlight School of Yoga in Cary, NC under Susan Jackson. I have further studied Ashtanga yoga under MV Chidanand in Mysore and am continuing my education with other esteemed teachers such as Stacy Ingham, David Keil, David Garrigues. I continue to study Hatha yoga and philosophy with Subhash Mittal, and Sudhesh Chand. I recently completed my 300 hour teacher training with the Kaivalya Yoga Method. I am very thankful for all my past and present teachers who have provided me with knowledge and inspiration. I hope to continue to spread the knowledge of yoga and aim to help my students and community understand the tools that yoga gives us to live our highest potential in life.
