About
April Cray Rhodes is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
She,Her, Aries. In seeking various Yoga models I chose the Blue Lotus Yoga School which opened a new way of movement and integration of strength and flow. In brief, I’ll share my back story and present teaching. My father was part of the Hari Krishna movement . My personal journey with Yoga began in Maine, USA. I was an eclectic fitness instructor. Aquatic’s , Cardio kickboxing, Step and Ball class. Yoga helped to give me a focus and internal slowing down to begin seeking of balance of self. Moving to New Mexico I explored and delved into a B.K.S. Iyengar teacher training in Cloudcroft. With an interest in restoration I taught: Alzheimer chair Yoga for 3 years, Private Studio at my home for Drug & Alcohol Recovery for 3 years and began an interest in elders and taught chair / standing Yoga at the Mescalero Apache Reservation. My focus is strength, grace and flow. As I ushered myself into an official Senior Citizen at age 65 in 2023 I taught at my local Senior Center in Alamogordo,NM, now I am subbing classes at the TorC,NM Senior Center with possible new spaces that are coming to light in TorC, NM. My style of slowing down my Vinyasa Flow with metaphysical edges, intuitiveness, balance, strength and flexibility has suited my changing body in this 3rd Trimester life. My recent ongoing project is “The Silver Citizens Yoga Experience”. ACR
