While I've put yoga on hold here and there since then, I have always come back to it. I've consistently practiced for the last five years, with only a short break right before and right after having my son in 2024. I can’t keep myself away from it for too long because I feel it in my body and energy.Teaching is one of my passions. I worked in education for 15 years, and like anything else in my life in which I’m interested, I dive head first and go as deep as possible. I have a doctorate in education, but since having a baby last year, I now stay home with my son. Trying to get as much time in doing yoga with a small child as I did before has been difficult, and practicing alone at home just isn't the same as being with a group!I started the Mommy & Me Yoga Club doing yoga at various parks with other moms while our children play. Yoga with kids is different: Little faces surprise us in downward dog, tiny hands wave snacks at us in half moon, and pouty faces insist on being carried during chair pose. It's different. It's imperfect. But it's motherhood, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
