Barbara A. Gawinski, PhD, LMFT, RYT-500 Barbara Gawinski, PhD, LMFT, RYT is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). She provided wellness yoga at her workplace and well as mindfulness meditation sessions for 2.5 years. She has 30 + years experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has additional Kripalul Training for 40 hours in Trauma Sensitive Yoga from David Emerson and 40 hours of training in Restorative Teacher Training with Sudha Carolyn Lundeen. Her 300 hours were completed with Sarah Graco of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Dr. Gawinski has been working primarily with underserved populations especially with those with health care issues. She had dedicated a large part of her clinical work to men, women and children who have experienced traumatic life events in their homes, communities or abroad. After offering various forms of mental health care, she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher-training program and a 40-hour Trauma Sensitive Yoga program sponsored by the Trauma Center of Justice Resource Institute, Brookline, MA, 40-Restorative Yoga Training and 300 additional hours in Yoga Therapy. After retiring from her practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Gawinski now offers individual and group yoga classes with people interested in a sensitive approach to working with their body for a deeper connection to their physical and mental health and wellness honoring their current status.
