About
I am a compassionate & passionate educator helping people to develop awareness & understanding of their body in order to live happier & healthier lives.
I believe that adopting the simple lessons from the ancient arts of yoga and Ayurveda can mean wellness for all. It is not a mystical, hard to follow path. Yoga is learning to listen to our bodies and providing them with the movement, energy, breath, nourishment, and love that it requires to flourish. The skills Becky learned on her mat through yoga classes and yoga teacher training have changed her life. Burned out by the age of 32 from a high stress life, Becky was successful by most standards from her work across the USA consulting with Fortune 500 companies. Becky found yoga before this time but yoga was another activity in the long list of many for many years. She now lives an active life, not a life jammed with activities. She loves traveling, cooking, reading, hiking, biking, kayaking, barre, time in nature, meditation, and of, course yoga. Of the physical activities, yoga allows Becky the fastest path to connect her mind, spirit and body. Becky believes there are two basic schools of yoga in the West - yoga of action/heat and yoga of patience. Both schools are great and serve people at different times in their lives. Becky’s yoga started in 2002 with a very active yoga flowing and Ashtanga practice which she needed to help still her very active mind and body. Yoga has given her tools to quite her mind and her practice has evolved into one of patience. She practices and teaches a gentler, hatha flowing yoga that offers a deep physical connection, can be active or restorative depending on the daily need, and provides flexibility and strength through longer holds. In addition to general classes, Becky is certified to teach Restorative, Yin and Prenatal yoga in addition to Yoga Nidra. She completed her 200 hour teacher training program under Sarla Nichols at Midtown Yoga in Memphis, TN and her 300 training program under Val Spies at The Lotus Pond Center in Tampa, FL. She completed her Ayurveda Yoga Specialist and Ayurveda Health Counselor certifications under Kathryn Templeton with the Himalayan Institute.
