A member of The Yoga Alliance since its inception, Bonnie Tarantino served as the Director Yoga Programs at The University of Maryland School of ---Center for Integrative from 2003-2017.

In 2009 Bonnie was awarded a grant to manage and teach yoga, stress reduction and Reiki techniques to health care professionals. The program, called Pathways, has trained to date over 350 health care professionals with over 100 practitioners trained through to Reiki master level. Out of this pilot program the center's 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings were developed. All three programs highly stressed Reiki and strive to assist teachers in developing tools to ensure knowledge of the energy fields as well as personal knowledge of their own vibrational impact on others. Bonnie also acts as an adjunct presenter of yoga, Reiki and toning to University of Maryland ----- students during Integrative ---- elective. In addition to this she lectures and gives yoga, Reiki and toning demonstrations to the public as well as to hospital staff, nurses and ---- students. In 2013 Bonnie published, along with her colleagues, a paper in Explore Magazine on the Qualitative and Quantitative Evaluation of a Pilot Integrative Coping and Resiliency Program for Healthcare Professionals, noting the impact mind body trainings have on health care professionals. Explore (NY). 2013 Jan;9(1):44-7. ) Bonnie also served as a principal yoga instructor in the study “ Yoga to Improve Psychological and Neuroendocrine Function and Promote weight loss in Obesity" with Andrew P. Goldberg, M.D. Professor, Division of Gerontology, Director, Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center University of Maryland School of-----. Prior to her position as Yoga Director Bonnie owned and operated her yoga studio Room For Spirit Yoga Studio in Storrs, CT. Bonnie now enjoy's privately mentoring and coaching the teachers she has trained over the years.
