About
From an early age I have enjoyed movement in the form of dance and gymnastics.
I was introduced to Bikram yoga in the early 2000's but was not dedicated to a practice. Throughout my 20's and 30's I struggle with anxiety and depression that resulted in a Massive Heart Attack in 2017. Due to my rural location Cardiac Rehab was not available and so I looked to the fitness industry to try and heal myself. I began crossfit in 2018 slowly building confidence in my body but my mind was still plagued with worry and fear. In 2021 I was introduced to Les Mills group fitness and pursued a certification in Sprint, a HIIT style indoor bike program. I enjoyed the process of education in fitness and decided to certify with Les Mills in Bodypump, a barbell style class in early summer of 2021. My goal was to pursue a final certification with Les Mill in a Yoga, Tai-Chi, and Pilates fushion class. After doing some research and learning about pranayam and the effects on the body, especially from a mental health and wellness perspective, I decided to pursue my first Yoga Teacher Training in August of 2022. In December of 2022 I received my 200hr YTT Certificate and immediately began offering Hatha Yoga at the gym where I was already teaching group fitness. Today I teach at 2 gym facilities, a Community College, and have several private groups. I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Chair, Children's, Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra using a trauma informed approach to all my offerings. I include Pranayam, Mudra, Bandha, Yoga Philosophy and Lineage. I teach with and without props and as Level 2 Sound Healer, regularly include sound in my offerings. My goal is to introduce other to Pantanjali's 8 limbed approach to yoga, while making yoga accessible to anyone with a desire to practice. My hope is to remind people of their divinity and wholeness while equipping them them with tools to self-regulate. I am continuing to pursue knowledge of yoga through my own Sadhana, Svadhyaya, reading, as well as offerings from My Vinyasa Practice and Yoga Alliance. Upon my one year anniversary in December as an RYT, I plan to enroll in Yoga Therapy in hope of one day working in Cardiac Rehabtherapy. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I would love to hear from you if I may be of service. Humbled and grateful. Namaste
