I found yoga not long after leaving the Army in —starting with classes at the local gym on post then exploring practices through Wii old VHS tapes and DVDs and eventually YouTube Over time I found my way into yoga studios and in I enrolled in a -hour teacher training program At the time we lived out in the country without easy access to studios and I wanted to deepen my own practice and understanding of yoga from home Then the pandemic hit and like so many others I was learning and adapting my practice at home What began as a personal journey turned into something more as friends started asking me to guide them—and that led to teaching weekly classes at my office and even subbing for goat yoga classes on a local farm Ive always been an athlete—growing up in sports serving in the Army and now as a bodybuilder Through all of that yoga has remained a cornerstone of my routine for recovery strength and flexibility More than just the physical benefits yoga has brought me tremendous peace—mentally and emotionally Teaching yoga has been a truly rewarding part of my journey and I love sharing this practice with others in ways that meet them where they are Brittney Gebers is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School RYS.
