Hello! I think a couple elements are important to include in this bio An understanding of how I identify with yoga as a whole as this understanding is what ultimately drives ones teaching approach and an understanding about me personally  Yoga What does it mean to me? Yoga is a way of life it is less about perfecting the asanas and more about how those asanas represent reflect and play out in your life I was taught that a yogi can do three things fight escape or accept and it is when one accepts discomfort and begins to approach that edge confidently that the pose truly begins; it is where the yogis growth happens Throughout my professional career as a school counselor followed by becoming a Psychologist and personal life as a daughter sister wife and a mother who experienced birthing trauma yoga has been my balance my co-pilot a constant and a friend Yoga helps bring me together holistically mind - body - spirit It allows me to meet examine and integrate all aspects of myself on the mat and helps me embody them authentically off the mat Specifically it has helped me uncover and unravel vulnerabilities that I did not acknowledge or even know existed some in which contributed to numerous physical ailments For these reasons I chose to pursue my certification as a yoga teacher As a teacher I focus on helping my clients do the same I try to meet each client where they are at in life and bring them to where he or she wants to be Due to my professional and personal experiences I am very sensitive to clients who have suffered physical or mental insults and equipped to empathetically and knowledgeably guide them on their road to discovery and growth.
