Carol Rutherfurd

It felt like coming home. She has been chasing that feeling ever since. She loves the calming effect yoga has on her body, and especially on her over-active mind. The balance and ever deepening level of awareness she finds in her daily practice continues to ground yet elevate her everyday experiences. In 2004, Carol completed her first teacher training at the 200 hour level. She realized then she only dipped her little toe in the ocean of knowledge yoga holds. A passion and fire ignited within her soul to search for Truth. She spent the following years in deep study, attending numerous weekend workshops and classes with amazing teachers, including Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois, as well as extensive study with her most beloved teacher Tim Miller, with whom she completed 100 hours each in primary, intermediate and advanced series. The more she studies the more she realizes she doesn't know anything, and Truth is ever elusive. Her passion and love for the mystery of yoga has only deepened her desire to continually inquire within, for the seeker she is at heart understands that within is where the universe resides. In fall of 2016 Carol made her first pilgrimage to India, where she studied with some beautiful unknown teachers, as well as Saraswathi Jois. She plans to continue these pilgrimages every few years to steep herself in the deep lineage of Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, and to for the simple pleasure of just being a student. She now realizes she will never be done learning. "And the road goes on forever and the party never ends..."
