About
Carrie Treister, E-RYT 500 | YACEP was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
She fell in love with yoga and all that it brings in 2000, after she underwent surgery to correct scoliosis. The surgery left her with 13 spinal fusions, two titanium rods one on each side of her spine and several screws and pins. After surgery Carrie had little mobility in her spine, and in order to avoid long-term pain she needed to keep her core strong. Carrie’s yoga practice began as a home practice to prevent long-term pain and help rebuild her core strength. A few years later, her sister and good friend invited her to attend a class. Her first thought was, “I will not be able to do anything!” Little did she know, her passion and love for yoga would be born. Yoga has no limitations. "How you do anything is how you do everything." Carrie completed her first 200HR Yoga Teacher Training in 2008 and her Advanced 300HR Program in 2019. In 2012, Carrie was invited to study with Jonny Kest and participate in two additional 200-Hour teacher trainings that prepared her to begin leading teacher trainings under Jonny Kest for Life Time Fitness. In 2015, Carrie's vision of creating her own training program came to be. She had the opportunity to travel around the US assisting Jonny at conferences and Wanderlust Tahoe. She has studied with, Dr. Ray Long, Leslie Kaminoff, Baron Baptiste, Tao Porchon-Lynch, Kathryn Budig and Seane Corn, in addition to several others. She is internationally recognized and an established teacher and leader in the Cleveland area who loves connecting with and meeting new people. She has a strong passion for what she does and believes that you must love what you do. Yoga has inspired her to be the best version of herself, and she hopes to inspire the same upon her students. Carrie also holds a BA in Communications from Cleveland State University. When Carrie isn’t teaching yoga, she enjoys traveling, hanging at the beach, cuddling and playing with her dog Elmer, attending theatre performances and spending time with family & friends.
