About

Cecil Zeringue teaches Restorative Yoga, Guided Meditation, Power Vinyasa Flow, Level 1 Beginners, Gentle and Adaptive Yoga, Private and Team Yoga Classes at M Power Yoga studio in Houma, Louisiana.

He finished his 200 hr level training at Free To Be Power Yoga Studio in New Orleans, LA on Dec 5th, 2015. He also completed Baptiste Institute's Level 1 Training in Sedona, AZ July 2015. Cecil earned his RYT500 level Designation by completing 300 hours of Smart Flow Yoga Training with Annie Carpenter in February, 2021. Continuing education training includes Baptiste Institute's Art of Assisting (2015 & 2016), Swan River Restorative Yoga Teacher Training (2017), Yoga Therapeutics w/ Kelly Haas (2018), Yoga & Scoliosis Pt. 1 & 2 w/ Elise Browning Miller (2018). Mr. Zeringue holds the Yoga Alliance E-RYT200 & RYT500 Designations and currently has over 2000 hours of Yoga teaching experience. Cecil first began a consistent Yoga and Pilates practice while living in Orange County, California in the late 90s and early 2000s for 6 years while in his mid 30s. During that period, Mr. Zeringue completed several Landmark Education For Living courses and series including the Forum, Advanced, Self-Expression Leadership Program, Integrity Series, Forum into Action, Communication Access to Power (CAP) and Communication Practice & Performance (CPP). After moving back to Louisiana in 2004, he drifted away from Yoga and became active in the soccer community as a Coach at the youth, club, and High School levels, Houma-Terrebonne Soccer Association Board Member and two term President. He has maintained a daily yoga practice over the past 4 years. Several factors rekindled his dedication into yoga including an accumulated heightened sense of awareness from past traumatic injuries (Dislocated Hip, fractured face, split knee cap and broken jaw) of a near fatal auto crash while in his early 20s and prior sports injuries (knees, foot and shoulders) from HS football. Another factor that encouraged Cecil to dive deeper into his practice and study was his experience within youth athletes noticing muscle and joint injuries, poor postural alignment and lack of flexibility. Additionally, his youngest son (1 of 3 boys) was born in 2006 with spinal deformities and fused vertebrae from Goldenhar Syndrome. One of his most inspired and enjoyable experiences as a Yoga teacher is the opportunity to teach his mom adaptive yoga weekly who is 86 years young (or 43 years old on each leg). Cecil Zeringue is a local business owner and holds a Masters in Business Administration and a B.S in Computer Science from Nicholls State University.
