Charissa completed her TT at Yoga Now then Omaha Yoga and Bodywork Center under the direction of Susi Amendola C-IAYT ERYT- Her TT was completed at Kripalu through Integrative Yoga Therapy under the direction of Joseph Le Page C-IAYT and author of "Yoga Toolbox" and "Mudras for Healing and Transformation" She is also a Certified Yoga Therapist through Kripalus School of Integrative Yoga Therapy Charissas classes include body and breath awareness practices designed to help people recognize emotions and physical sensations in the body With that knowledge participants are empowered with yoga tools for working with their own subtle emotional and physical energy on or off the mat Using a chair a wall or a bed for support Charissa is especially skilled at adapting practices for people who do not wish to practice on the floor have limited range of motion or consider themselves "not flexible enough for yoga" After two decades of computer-oriented day jobs she has become a whiz at working with back neck shoulder and wrist discomfort associated with desk jobs Charissa also firmly believes that you cant know what you havent learned and as a result she revels in teaching beginners As an academic librarian with years experience working directly with college students she is well-versed in the daily stressors and boom or bust cycle of the college semester Charissa skillfully combines her experience with students and yoga tools to provide a framework to manage the unique stressors of this population including but not limited to depression and anxiety Some of her yoga writing can be found at https://wwwyogafortimesofchangecom/blog/.
