Cheryl instructs a variety of yoga classes specifically tailored to her students needs She also instructs classes in Jazz Latin Jazz Latin Rhythms African VOP Jazz Hip-Hop Gymnastics Acrobatics Tap Contemporary Lyrical Ballet partnering and Ballroom She is a classically trained NYC Dance and studied under Frank Hatchett Charles Kelley Phil Black Brain Lewis and Bill Davies She attended numerous seminars taught by Joe Tremaine with Debbie Allen the cast of Fame Tony Dovolani and Melanie LaPatin Cheryl Carpio is the former owner director and choreographer of the Professional Dance Center in Sandy Hook CT She has choreographed numerous dance and artistic stage interpretations coordinated major charity events and on stage performances She lived and studied Latin rhythms in Puerto Rico Cheryl was the captain of the WCSU dance team and received a scholarship to Philadelphia school of performing arts Cheryl also modeled and competed in beauty pageants She collaborated with French Olympic Gymnast and Equestrian Jean-Luc Cornee on a film linking the art of dance and gymnastics to horse training Cheryl also taught at Dancemakers Studio in Southbury Ct for seven years Other Credits include:Certified yoga instructor RYT BS in Justice & Law administration from WCSU MS from UNH is Forensic Psychology studying under Dr Henry Lee Professional degree LADC- licensed drug and alcohol counselor LADC CAC - Certified addiction counselor & CCPD- Certified Co-occurring disorders She retired from the state of CT in the capacity of Correctional Counselor & Juvenile Parole Cheryl assists individuals with rehabilitative movement and can assist individuals to overcome physical limitations and enhance sports performances while helping others achieve peace from mood disorders and trauma and can also assist with recovery and or harm reduction from substances The methodology used is achieved through the ancient practice of yoga coupled with wellness with a developed a technique to integrate the ancient yoga rituals and blend them into societies current fast pace world to make everyday living like a dance of hope and joy Hope to see you on the other side of the looking glass Namaste Cheryl Carpio LADC RYT Yoga instructor Dancer and Choreographer CURRENT SCHEDULE STUDIO STUDIO Regular class schedule: - Monday YOGA Wednesday YOGA PRIVATE LESSONS AVAILABLE Services also offered: Private and group instruction is available in Yoga Dance Ballroom Party and Weddings New classes forming at request Licensed individual clinical plans for addiction anxiety mood co-occurring disorders and/or trauma Yoga mindfulness to improve emotional regulation and increase attention.
