The ying and yang of yoga to me is “FOCUS and RELAX”.
Yoga is for EVERYONE! We all are unique and awesome! We all have different bodies, capacities and baggage (positive & negative). I like to make yoga FUN and help people get to know themselves, feel happier, more centered and present in this moment. Yoga has so many benefits - fitness, flexibility, body awareness, calming, positive outlook, connection to others, better health… and yoga teaches about kindness, peace, gratitude, selflessness, non harming, respect for self and others and more. It's a positive lifestyle. My background includes being a social worker, a licensed counselor with clinical endorsement, a college instructor, presenter of family life education topics and executive director of a non- profit volunteer based child advocacy center. I’ve worked with children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment, with battered women, pregnant teens and teen moms, people who have substance abuse issues and the general public, young and old! I’ve practiced yoga regularly since 2002 and have been teaching since 2014 (RYT 200). I’ve taught yoga classes at corporate sites, social service centers, yoga studios, Y’s, college campuses, breweries, schools, my own studio and outside at parks and beaches! I can teach yoga using an academic method with videos / powerpoint so students can see the poses and have access to download details for their home practice. I teach beginners and more advanced yogis and all ages from seniors to children and any ages in between. And on Zoom and Facebook during the pandemic. I love to travel and visit studios wherever I go! I do yoga every day - with a mental or physical practice. I love to introduce people to yoga...Who can't use a little more calm and joy in their life?! Everybody can benefit from yoga! What’s stopping you? Smile and get started!
