 It was years later when I met my guru, Amma, also known as the hugging saint. Through contact with her I was able to connect my spiritual pursuit to the path of yoga.  Embracing the whole lifestyle of yoga, as a way of simply living in alignment with satya, the highest truth, is the practice for building a strong foundation to base and support our life's work here.   My teachers include Nadia Toraman, Karin Kuhn, David Williams, Barney Chapman, Kalyani Russell,  Swami Dayamrita, and of course Amma.   Gardening, farming, community building, nature, healthy eating along with asana, mantra, karma and bhakti yoga are all included in the Maui lifestyle here along with the spirit of Aloha.  Drawing on the ancient teaching of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, ashtanga yoga, sanskrit verses, and the deities, students will learn to apply these universal principles to their own lives.  And, how to weave the philosophy of yoga into their own classes so that their students can experience the full transformative power of the practice.
