About

Christy Fisher (C.M.A, M.A.,  and E-RYT) is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher at the professional level and has been a regular yoga practitioner for over 25 years.

She is also a certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and brings over 37 years of movement training to her classes.  As a dancer and choreographer, Christy also holds a deep interest in somatic awareness as a means of creating greater freedom and ease in movement.   She has been fortunate to study Developmental Movement and Body Mind Centering  with  leading teachers in the field including Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Marthy Eddy, Martha Myers, and Peggy Hackney.  Along with directing Phinney Ridge Yoga, Christy has taught for the National MS Society Washington State Chapter, Cancer Lifeline, and the Washington State Traumatic Brain Injury Association.  From 2006 - 2008 she collaborated with the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA on a research study measuring the benefits of yoga on women recovering from Breast Cancer..   "Christy continually amazes me with the wisdom of her teaching style. She empowers students to respect and listen to their bodies to guide them to connect to their own wisdom. Christy is a masterful teacher with a seemingly limitless and often subtle yoga vocabulary. In addition, she has a great sense of humor and a compassionate heart. I highly recommend studying with her." -Lynne Conrad Marvet, Co-Director, Nalanda West Study and Meditation Center
