About
Claudette Evans is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Claudette is a self-described yoga nerd, and has been studying for more than 20 years, and teaching for more than 12 years. Before coming to yoga, she shared her gifts as a classically-trained singer, dancer and actor, an athlete, a nonprofit arts administrator, an event producer, and as a small business owner, co-founding a national conference on community service and citizenship. Following a car accident in 2008, and an autoimmune flare up that saw her lose all of her hair, she began yoga teacher training to deepen her practice, as well as replenish her body and mind, and was lucky enough to find mentors that helped inform her approach to life and work; they include, Zoe Mai, Denise Benitez, Elizabeth Rainey, Douglas Brooks, James Boag, and Catherine Munro, among many others. Through their examples, Claudette has become passionate about training and mentoring yoga teachers. Claudette works to create a space for the community that is warm and welcoming, so that students can explore the sheer joy of movement, while cultivating greater connection in their lives. She continues to expand her knowledge of yoga through the study of Sanskrit, Mantra, and Philosophy, and teaches Sanskrit and other offerings that help take curious and devoted yogis beyond the mat to further their practice. Claudette offers private sessions in asana, meditation, mantra, and Sanskrit, as well as teacher mentoring, teacher training modules, workshops, and retreats throughout the Pacific Northwest.
