My goal is to provide excellent yoga instruction to active older adults  I teach Gentle Hatha and Chair Yoga to enhance flexibility strength and balance Breathing techniques meditation and mindfulness are taught to help reduce stress We create a supportive yoga community focused on healthy lifestyles together I studied with Jim and Lynea Gillen Founders of the "Yoga Calm Curriculum for Children" in their West Portland Oregon studio I earned an RYT- I completed a "Yoga for Seniors" Course with Kimberly Carson and Carol Krucoff drawing from their research based instruction at Duke Integrative Medicine and DVD "Relax into Yoga" "Silver Sneakers Yoga Master Class" was taught by Donna Horowitz developer of the "Silver Sneakers Yoga Curriculum" I recently completed their course on Group Exercise for those with hip limitations and their Stability Course designed to improve balance strength and endurance SAIL Certification is an evidenced based  "Balance & Fall Prevention" Course  I completed it through Pierce College "Silver & Fit Safety Course" was completed through IDEA I completed the "Yoga Calm Youth Instructor Certification" Guidance Counselor grades K- Tacoma Public Schools  MA EdCounseling and Guidance Pacific Lutheran University; ESA School Counselor State of Washington; Mentor: The College Success Foundation Achievers Program The Palmer Scholars The Washington National Guard Youth Academy; Volunteer: Kids at Hope Northwest;  Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound; Lakewold Gardens Green Thumbs Explorers Program; Dance Theater Northwest; Washington State School Retirees Association Legislative Committee Pierce County School Retirees Scholarship Committee Chairperson Member of Steilacoom Kiwanis BBA Personnel and Industrial Relations Pacific Lutheran University.
