About
Dana aims to empower her students with choice, and the knowledge that they are the experts of their own bodies and minds.
Her classes are sequenced with a purpose, while providing ways for students to personalize their practice. Dana Bernstein, RYT 500, E-RYT 200, YACEP, began her relationship with yoga somewhere in the early Y2K era as a teen with an instructional book and space on the floor of her bedroom. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Ohio State University and received both her 200 and 300 hour certifications at Yoga on High. She loves to sweat, and has practiced movement in different forms including dance, cycling, Capoeira Angola and partner dancing. She is a yoga teacher, Reiki master, tarot reader and graphic designer (and she likes it that way). Dana’s teaching style is influenced by her personal practice based in Ashtanga, vinyasa, power and restorative yoga. Dana offers public classes, special events, private Goat Yoga parties, and private/group lessons by request. Dana combines depth with humor for a practice that’s approachable and accessible. While honoring the philosophical tradition of yoga, Dana loves to peel back the layers and explore the practice in unexpected ways. Dana’s classes are specifically structured to work toward a deeper understanding of yoga through breath, alignment and philosophy, while making space for variation and play. When available, she offers the use of yoga props (blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, etc.) to ground, support and deepen the practice. She uses her experience with Reiki to combine analogies of the subtle body with applied anatomy concepts. She enjoys connecting new students and experienced yogis through public events. She specializes in partnering with community leaders to create innovative experiences that take yoga out of the studio and into the world. Dana specializes in the following styles (and variations of them) to new beginner, intermediate and advanced students: Vinyasa Ashtanga Power Slow Flow Deep Stretch / Yin
