About
Designations: E-RYT/ YACEP I began practicing yoga over sixteen years ago, though over the past 7 years, I have developed a strong self-led practice of asana and meditation.
Yoga has been a great source of strength in my life and has taught me tools and given me power to rise above injury, illness, and emotional trials. Yoga has taught me what spirituality is and to accept myself and others. I learned to teach yoga in 2013-14 and have certainly not looked back since then. Teaching yoga has helped me connect more deeply to my own student-nature and inspired me to continue to learn as much as I can. I love to share my evolving knowledge and passion with students. I have had the opportunity to learn from some amazing teachers and I do my best to pass on their wisdom in my teaching. In 2013 I attended a 200 hour teacher training with Sherry Zak at Halifax Yoga in the Baptiste Power Yoga style. In 2015 I did a second teacher training with Manju Jois in traditional Ashtanga practice. Most recently, in 2016 I completed levels 1-3 of Critical Alignment teacher training with Gert van Leeuwen. As well as other smaller trainings and workshops. I love teaching for all skill and experience levels of students, I strive to deliver classes that offer a balance between accessibility and challenge. Beyond teaching yoga Asana (physical poses) I like to share some of the other aspects of the practice with students, including meditation, breathing exercises, and philosophy. When I am not practicing yoga or teaching yoga you can find me exploring the wild world with my little one or wandering aimlessly in nature. I look forward to sharing some time and space with you! Namaste.
