DAVID VANDERMEER

After years of involvement in competitive sports and martial arts, David took a yoga class and discovered he had finally found this “home” on the mat. The holistic melding of physicality with breath, grounding with awareness, and intricacies with expansiveness provided him the channel to thrive and fully enter into himself.   David specializes in Powerful Vinyasa Yoga and Ashtanga Improv. He fosters an atmosphere of individual expression, empowerment, personal challenge and lightheartedness. “I don’t want anyone to pretend to be something they are not. We don’t have to be perfect; it’s actually okay to be a real human…” In his class, you’ll learn to challenge yourself and make the yoga experience your own, while never “taking yourself too seriously."   Born and raised in Las Vegas, David has a love for his city and a deep longing for vibrant community. When he isn’t practicing yoga or counseling students, you can find him with his love sampling an array of adventurous foods, engaged in photography, or hanging out with exceptional individuals. David completed his 200 hour RYT training with Marissa Lee Harris, but passionately continues to train under various styles.
