About
Dawn grew up in a small town southwest of Boston.
Though fantastically untalented at sports, she developed an affinity for ballet at a young age. After college, Dawn moved to New York City, where she happily discovered yoga at the 14th Street Y Jewish community center in her neighborhood. Over the years, she continued practicing, on and off, at various studios in New York, and then in Chicago. Following a lapse of several years, Dawn felt inspired to dive back in and deepen and broaden her yoga practice. In 2025, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Bloom Yoga Studio in Chicago. Dawn is particularly drawn to the ideal of yoga as a physical and philosophical practice accessible to all, with potential to help us better ourselves and our shared world. Off the mat, Dawn enjoys reading novels, knitting and crocheting, dancing, and hanging out with loved ones, including her insanely playful cat Astor. As a tango dancer who views social dance as a conversation between partners, she is fascinated by the conversation that unites the mind, breath, and body in yoga asana and philosophy.
