About
The first time Deanna practiced Yoga in a studio, she knew her life was forever changed in the best of ways.
It was a dreamy haze of love at first practice, and all she knew was that she needed to learn as much as she could about what Yoga has to offer. Deanna completed her 200 hour teaching certification in 2012 from Yogawood Studio in Collingswood, and studied under the guidance of the incomparable Beth Filla. 13 years later, her love for Yoga has only deepened, her knowledge has expanded with each breath, and she continues to learn through every practice she takes part of whether she is the teacher or the student. What Deanna loves best about Yoga, is that it nurtures and provides balance for one’s entire being–mind, body, and spirit. When we are in a more balanced state of being, our overall functioning in every aspect of life improves. Our bodies and minds become healthier, and we are able to do things that we maybe once thought were unattainable. In this more balanced state of overall health, we can rise to meet challenges in life more effectively, whether that challenge is to reach the top of a mountain, or to feel more compassionate and confident when we interact with ourselves and others. We can think more clearly, and make better decisions. We can become the best version of ourselves.Deanna loves teaching students of all ages and all abilities. She truly enjoys teaching a variety of class styles whether it’s a snappy Vinyasa class where students flow actively from one pose to another; Slow Flow classes that offer a focus on mindful movement and transitions; Yin classes to find stillness in the body and mind, where poses are held for minutes at a time; beginner friendly classes for those who are just getting started or looking to slow down; gentler classes that make Yoga accessible for all; and classes for children as young as two that focus on learning basic poses, fostering an early love for Yoga, learning about mind and body connections, and using skills they learn through Yoga to help with big feelings. Deanna offers practices that aim to leave her students feeling both grounded and lifted after taking class, and hopes that her students can take that feeling with them off the mat. You can book a variety of offerings with her including, but not limited to:Corporate ClassesPreschool ClassesPrivate LessonsSemi-Private LessonsSemi-Private Kids ClassesBirthday PartiesSpecial Events such as Wine and Yoga or Happy Hour YogaYou can also find her at The Studio for Yoga in Moorestown, where she has taught since 2012. Deanna believes that Yoga should be accessible for all people, and that every single person in every part of the world can benefit from it. A sliding scale for pricing is available by request in order to make Yoga accessible for those that find Yoga inaccessible due to financial struggle. When she’s not on the mat, Deanna stays busy as a mother of two boys that she shares with her husband Dennis, and as an active volunteer in her community. She enjoys learning just about anything new, reading, listening to and singing loudly along to all kinds of music, listening to podcasts about everything from True Crime to Comedy, and all things cooking and food related. She does not enjoy cleaning.
