Debs interest in yoga began in while on a personal journey for spiritual growth in Sedona Arizona  In Deb completed a -hour teacher training with the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale PA On a pilgrimage to India for the Kumbha Mela she journeyed along with swamis spiritual seekers yoga practitioners from all over the world to congregate at the confluence of three sacred rivers to participate in a powerful collective consciousness This opportunity for personal growth lasted well beyond the physical aspects of the trip itself  After much self-reflection she decided to leave a corporate role at the end of to pursue her passion of teaching yoga and being of service  She later studied Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery with Veterans Yoga Project so she could hone the special skill set which is required to work with students who have faced trauma She is teaching at the VAMC in Northport since January Deb is honored to be President of the Board of Directors of Veterans Yoga Project  Her focus is to develop partnerships and cultivate community outreach as an integral part of her work to support veterans their families and our communities She is the proud mom of her son who is a Marine helicopter pilot and her daughter who is a chef She also serves as Director of the yoga program at Drew Patrick on Long Island Debs work stems from teaching from the heart Influenced by her teachers peers environment and her travels her aim is to bring a unique sense of empowerment to her students Her classes follow an intuitive practice holding space for her students and meeting them where they are Drawing upon a lifetime passion directed towards the achievement of self-awareness her aim is to guide students with mindfulness and the transformative powers of Yoga; touching one heart at a time.
