About
With over 27 years of experience as a trauma-informed practitioner, mindfulness and stress management scholar-practitioner, and now yoga instructor, I specialize in integrating evidence-based practices that promote healing, resilience, growth, and psychological safety.
My approach is shaped by my education, certifications, and lived experience, allowing me to connect deeply with others and guide them toward lasting transformation. I hold certifications in Mental Health First Aid, QPR Suicide Prevention, De-escalation, Psychological Body Armor, Mindfulness, Reiki I/II, and Energetics. As an award-winning scholar-practitioner, my work in advancing trauma-informed care and stress management has been recognized for its significant impact on both individuals and organizational culture. I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups, including veterans, military personnel and spouses, fire service, EMS, law enforcement, trauma survivors, construction workers, and women. As the host of the globally ranked PTSD and Beyond Podcast, I provide valuable insights on trauma recovery and mental health to listeners in over 120 countries, earning The Best of PTSD honors for three consecutive years. I am committed to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and ultimately enjoy life fully. My trauma-informed approach ensures that every person is met with compassion, respect, and the tools they need for lasting wellbeing. If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing or need support in fostering trauma-informed practices within your classes, studio, or organization, let's connect and explore how we can work together to create environments where individuals and our communities can flourish.
