I believe yoga should meet you where you are. My classes honor the ancient lineage of yoga while adapting to modern bodies and lifestyles. Every student brings unique gifts and challenges to the mat, and my role is to create a safe, supportive space for authentic exploration and growth.

About

Maya Rodriguez has been teaching yoga for over 15 years, bringing a unique blend of traditional wisdom and modern movement science to her classes.

After completing her 200-hour training in Rishikesh, India, she went on to earn her 500-hour certification and became an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance.

Her teaching style emphasizes alignment, breath awareness, and the therapeutic applications of yoga. Maya specializes in working with students recovering from injuries and those managing chronic pain, having completed additional training in yoga therapy and trauma-informed teaching.

When she's not on the mat, Maya enjoys hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, practicing meditation at dawn, and mentoring new yoga teachers. She believes that yoga is for every body and is passionate about making the practice accessible to all.

FAQ

Questions About Maya's Practice

What should I bring to class?

Just bring yourself! We provide mats, blocks, straps, and blankets. If you prefer to use your own mat, you're welcome to bring it.

I've never done yoga before. Which class should I take?

I recommend starting with Gentle Hatha or Restorative Yoga. These classes move at a slower pace and include detailed instruction on alignment and breath work.

Do you offer private sessions?

Yes! Private sessions are great for working on specific goals, recovering from injury, or deepening your practice. I offer 60 and 90-minute sessions at my studio or your location within 15 miles.
