Denaya Dailey ERYT- YACEP Director and Primary Instructor of College of San Mateo RYS- & RYS- ___ My name is Denaya and I love to move  I have been teaching dance at the college level since and Yoga and Pilates since I have also been creating curricula for and leading -hr -hr and Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainings since I am particularly in love with thoughtful embodied and empowered movement  I love dance-like movements and movement transitions When I practice and teach yoga I connect movement in this way - it draws me back time and time again  I know that every body has its unique movement likes and dislikes - I am very in tune with my body  Id like to help you get more in tune with your body  I am also very interested in the connection of mind body and consciousness  Many people call this connection yoga  The moments when all three connect on the same wavelength leave us in a state of total connection union and completeness  I call these moments "yoga moments"  I look for them in everything I do  Yoga therefore is not limited to asana on my yoga mat but is a way of being within myself and in the world I enjoy leading an embodied and empowering flow-based yoga class - moving fluidly from one asana pose to the next  Ever an academic I love teaching anatomy and philosophy Be prepared to dive into body education and yogic philosophy in my classes Students are encouraged to challenge themselves by testing their edge while simultaneously listening to what their bodies need  My graceful flow is anatomically mindful with a curious spirit  I blend elegance openness and motivation to leave you feeling stress-free body-aware and invigorated __ Denaya Dailey tenured professor heads the Dance and Yoga departments at College of San Mateo in San Mateo California She holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Mills College and a BFA in World Arts and Cultures with an emphasis in Dance from UCLA  Denaya has been a kinesiology and dance faculty member at College of San Mateo since   She has studied closely with renowned yogis such as Shiva Rea and has modeled for yoga textbooks She has taught at community colleges private studios fitness centers and has lead workshops all over the USA  She leads the and Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificates at CSM Her Yoga designations include: E-RYT Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher - via Yoga Alliance YACEP Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® via Yoga Alliance RPYT Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher via Yoga Alliance Budokon Yoga Registered Instructor via Cameron Shayne & BDK University Budokon Mobility Registered Instructor via Cameron Shayne & BDK University Relax & Renew Certified Restorative Yoga via Judith Lasater Reiki Practitioner via San Francisco Reiki Center & Jessie Boote Yin Yoga Certified via Robin Jaffe Meditation Instructor Certified via Derin Main Yoga for Teens Certified via RISE Yoga for Youth Katonah Yoga via Nevine Michaan & Abbie Galvin.
