About
With decades of dedicated personal practice in meditation and breathwork, Deneal began studying under Ren Fields of AHA Yoga in 2014, earning her Yoga Alliance RYT200 designation in 2016 and her RYT500 in 2021.
Her practices draw from a new energy-based system developed by Ren Fields in 2017, “Yoga Kinetics, The Language of the Body/Mind.” This East-West application is based on moderate challenge using easeful flow and is learned at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Students are led to focus on developing “a Gentle heart, a balance of outer and inner strength, and a focused, clear, calm mind.” Kinetics is not a type of yoga but rather an approach that can be applied to any style. Classes may incorporate asanas, vinyasas, mudras, mantras, meditations and the like to enhance the 8 Energy Systems. This is accomplished by: strengthening the energy field (Aura), meridian function, radiant circuits and the electrics; and by balancing chakras, the Ayurveda 5 Elements, Yin/Yang and more. As a teacher certified in Yoga Kinetics, Deneal is an advanced practitioner with extensive training in the 8 Energy Systems and is required to maintain a strong, personal practice and an advanced RYT500 status with Yoga Alliance. She has developed teaching skills to guide students at any level of experience in specific principles and yoga techniques to enhance the energies of the whole being for complete wellness of the body, mind and spirit. Additionally, her RYT500 capstone project involved creating and leading a teacher training titled Yoga Behind Bars that focuses on trauma-informed practice for those impacted by incarceration or who feel imprisoned by some aspect of life. Deneal is completing her Integral Yoga Therapist certification and is also an End of Life Doula, trained through the International End of Life Doula Association. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Public Relations with concentrations in Sociology and Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Deneal has spent the majority of her career achieving results through what has been called no-nonsense and compassionate leadership of teams, connecting people, building relationships, and mentoring. As the Immediate Past President of the Rappahannock Rotary Satellite Club, the current President for the Rappahannock Rotary Club, and board member or volunteer for other organizations, Deneal spends many hours serving her community. In addition to teaching private clients and at community-based events, Deneal is an instructor and Regional Fitness Manager (Virginia) for Foresight Fitness. These roles allow her to serve a diverse student population where her greatest joy is helping all to create tools for living their best physical, mental and emotional lives.
