About
Where You're at Yoga is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Hi! I'm Diana, the owner and teacher of Where You're at Yoga. At the end of 2023, I earned my YTT 200 from Purusha Yoga through their online training option. I found them as a student and Outer Richmond of San Francisco denizen in 2014 and was enthusiastic about yin, restorative, and hatha yoga with them for several years. I now live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, which has a wonderful and growing yoga community! The yoga scene in Kalamazoo is generally very body-positive and inclusive. I hear nothing but good things about every studio and practice in my area! I am trying to fill spaces where people still feel self-conscious about engaging in fitness or spiritual practice after experiencing a lifetime of microaggressions and overt interference because of their bodies. Sometimes, even the best "conventionally attractive" instructors hit those nerves by accident because how on earth could they know without living it? As a larger-bodied person, I feel that awkwardness when the fantastic yoga instructor that totally and sincerely welcomes you leads you in a pose that is fine if you don't have boobs and a belly. The struggle is real, and that's before you add in a pranayama aspect! Where You're at Yoga is for people who want a daily practice and whose goals are geared towards living gently in the body they have and learning ways to be gentle and kind to themselves at any point in their fitness and/or spiritual journey. People of all ages, mobilities, and life experiences are welcome under the condition of mutual kindness and respect. I am taking steps to offer on-call yoga for those who want in-person assists and can't make it to an in-person class, and to make online classes available when possible. Wherever you are, I'll meet you where you're at. I am presently open to teaching at studios within 90 minutes of Kalamazoo, and in offering classes to local organizations and businesses as I build my practice. Contact me here or via my website. ~ I delight that you exist. You matter. ~
