About
Elanor West completed her Baptiste-inspired power vinyasa training at UPDOG Studios in Towson MD; her 95-hour Children's Yoga training with My Vinyasa Practice; and her 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training through CorePower Yoga.
She currently teaches at CorePower Yoga in Baltimore, MD. She used to teach at her work's University gym before her full-time job became remote, and she ran a high school Yoga Club when she taught high school. In addition to power vinyasa, Elanor enjoys slower vinyasa flows, Ashtanga, restorative, and yin yoga. She was a competitive figure skater and dancer growing up and was first introduced to yoga as a child at a figure skating camp. A few years later, Elanor was diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), a connective tissue disorder resulting in hypermobile joints and frequent partial and full dislocations. Her doctors recommended yoga and even wrote a prescription for it as a way to continue to strengthen muscles and stabilize joints. Elanor fell in love with yoga and she loves that there are always opportunities for variations and personalization if something "just isn't feeling right" in her or her students' bodies. Elanor now works as a Business Analyst for a major University hospital system and was a high school math teacher for six year prior, though her full-time jobs have never stopped her from practicing and/or teaching yoga daily! She has always had a passion for teaching others and teaching yoga combines her love for both teaching and yoga!
