About

Elissa C.

Rosenthal is an occupational therapist with more than 30 years of experience providing individual and group OT to clients of all ages with physical, psychiatric, and intellectual disabilities. She has worked in mental health settings, nursing homes, home care, public and private schools, and a residential care facility for developmentally delayed adults. Deepening her commitment to her personal yoga practice, she saw the possibilities for the fusion of rehabilitation with the practice of yoga. Her company “Yoga Pose Abilities” was born of that vision, based on the firm belief that yoga can be made accessible to anyone. Elissa specializes in classes and private instruction for the well elderly, teens and children, intellectually and physically disabled adults, and adolescents with Aspergers or mental health issues. Elissa is honored to be a graduate of a 200-hour RYT program taught by Jacqui Bonwell, Elyse Foster, David Vendetti, and Johnny Gillespie. She is Reiki I certified, certified in Children's Yoga, and certified in Chair Yoga. In her own life, yoga eases the stress of caring for medically ill family members. It teaches her to breathe in the middle of crisis and stand in mountain pose, rooting down into the earth for strength while reaching up to the sky for hope.
