About
I grew up in the country in Western New York State, and had been introduced to yoga when I was a child.
A few classes scattered through the years in between working in the barn and with my horses, a brief stint in gymnastics, soccer, and track and field. I had a basic knowledge of yoga and I had the strength and flexibility built in my body from my other activities. In 2010, a military move to Illinois prompted me to find a hobby, so I started attending classes at the gym on base. The spark held and fueled my fire for the next four years. From Illinois to Virginia I soaked up as many classes as I could and started using Instagram and its many yoga challenges to enhance my self practice. In 2014 I was moving to sunny southern Spain and decided it was time to step to the next level by getting certified to teach. I had seen such an improvement in my physical and mental health that I wanted to share it with the world. As luck would have it, there was an English taught teaching certification intensive only an hour from where I was living in Spain. In the spring of 2015 I held my certification in my hands from Frog Lotus Yoga International. I began giving classes out of my home to my friends, and slowly they began bringing their friends from base. For a little less than a year, I taught and watched my students grow. In 2016 the obligation to the military was finished and I brought my new certification to the states. My biggest joy has come from watching my students lessen their pain, whether it's by aiding in recovery from injury, or by rehabilitating aches and pains due to their daily activities. The other thing that brings light into my heart is watching my students' confidence build as they try new things, get upside-down, or touch their toes for the first time in decades. I love watching the smiles as people experience yoga as a healing practice for their body and minds, and I want to share that with the world as often as possible.
