About
Emily Hampton is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
I have been practicing yoga for 17 years. My love for yoga has only grown as I reap the benefits of a regular practice. I have found that yoga translates to so many aspects of my life including aiding in my running, relieving stress, allowing me to focus more, helping me to stay calm in stressful situations, and most of all giving me a deep sense of connectivity to the universe. I completed my first yoga alliance recognized 200 hour teacher training at Hothouse Yoga in Iowa City in 2011 allowing me to share my passion with others. I have also studied with many other yoga teachers to further my practice and my teaching and completed an additional 200 Hour teaching program. I am also certified to teach "Street Yoga" a 20-hr training in trauma sensitive yoga. I have studied with wonderful other teachers like Max Strom, Andre Lappa, Sadie Nardini, and Ray Long. I am honored to say I am a former ambassador for Lululemon and take pride in creating unique themes and community in all of my classes. Throughout my 9 years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to work regularly in both public and private class settings with both female and male NCAA teams and/or student athletes. Division one athletes that I work with span the spectrum of sport and include those who participate in golf, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, and soccer. Leading private, sport specific classes that help prevent injuries and teach athletes to let go of distractions and train their mind to behave itself, is a life's passion. But in all of my classes, I love to share the what committing yourself to a regular yoga practice can do for your whole being.
