About
I was first introduced to yoga in the early 1990s through dance lessons.
I enjoyed it then, but only ever flirted with yoga until the mid 2000s when I started developing a dedicated practise. Even then, I thought that yoga would only ever be "my thing" - what I do in my spare time from teaching other subjects and being a personal trainer. But then I really started to fall in love with yoga in all its aspects, and I realised that I needed to share yoga with others. I taught Latin for 7 years at Trinity College, Dublin, and that is when I first found my love for teaching. It was during the first week of my 200 hour training with Mike Nichols when I realised just how right this path feels for me. For the first time in nearly 4 years I feel like I am doing the right thing with my life- namely, teaching yoga. Without getting too philosophic about it, I feel that teaching is my dharma, and I am happiest when I am able to serve as a teacher to whomever will be my student! I am also a Level 1 CrossFit instructor, and that helps me find balance in my physical life. I feel that it also gives me a unique insight into teaching/coaching people from various athletic backgrounds and people who may even be highly resistant to trying yoga. I am qualified to teach any vinyasa style class (flow, power, hatha) as well as yin. I am interested in teaching any or all of these styles. By nature I am more of a yang person, so I gravitate toward the more fiery practices, but the yin training has helped me find space in my body and my spirit, so I am enthusiastic to teach that style, as well. I recently completed a pre- and postnatal training and cannot wait to help pregnant ladies find comfort and strength within themselves.
