About
Emma started practicing yoga in 2009 after moving to NYC from her hometown.
Looking for some movement and a way to spend time around other people, yoga filled that niche for years. The practice became a spiritual tool that she could rely on, especially during the scary, unpredictable days of the 2020 lockdown. When the gyms closed and jobs disappeared, yoga helped her gain new appreciation for her body and silence racing thoughts. After practicing for 14 years, Emma finally felt confident enough with her yoga and life experience to take the 200 hour teacher training at Kala Yoga in Brooklyn. Emma’s students can expect a class full of encouragement and care, and to walk away feeling accomplished and relaxed after a well-deserved savasana. When she’s not on the mat, Emma can be found making art, hanging out with her pets, or reading fantasy novels in a comfy chair.
