About
Originally trained as an artist (B.A., Fine Arts, 1982), Enilse has always been drawn to beauty, health, nature and spirituality.
She first started her practice in 1985, with Sivananda yoga and later Iyengar yoga while living in France. Since then, she has trained and studied with notable senior Iyengar instructors, Geeta Iyengar and Patricia Walden, who have given her an appreciation for the art of alignment, precision. Her life was permanently transformed while living in Crestone, CO, when meditation and mantra practice led her to India where she has also immersed herself in the deeper mystical teachings of Vendanta system of yoga. After many years of making a living creating Jewelry with her husband and traveling the art show circuit, she then returned to painting while running and teaching full-time at her yoga studio, Inner Light Yoga (Hurricane, UT) for 6 years. From 2004 to 2021, Enilse was a well-loved staff fitness instructor by guests at Red Mountain Resort in Ivins, UT where she led mind/body classes and yoga workshops for clients from all over the world, giving her a unique experience of sharing the healing power of Yoga in a destination resort environment. Enilse became a Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer in 2012 with senior Iyengar teacher, Elise Miller; in 2013, became a RELAX and RENEW® Trainer with Judith Hansen Lasater, Ph.D and received her certification in Pelvic Floor Yoga™ in 2018 with Leslie Howard, 500E-RYT. By incorporating these deeply healing complementary approaches to yoga with her students, she now brings a deeper holistic understanding of women's health and well-being by sharing how to heal from physical and emotional distress due to daily living, injury, trauma or the strain of spinal or pelvic floor dysfunction. For the last 11 years, MELT Method, became another self-care technique added to Enilse’s toolbox. She started to practice and train with Sue Hitzmann MELT, creator of MELT in her mid 50's, after experiencing chronic foot and neck pain for many years. MELT eliminates tension and joint compression in the body by quickly by restoring the hydration of the body’s facial system and altering the nervous system making it a natural effective companion modality with yoga postures. With over 30 years’ experience, Enilse’s skillful, warm compassionate approach to teaching, taught with precision, clarity and a keen eye to alignment and safety, aims to uplift and inspire students with effective tools for good health and balance. In the spring of 2022, she enters a new phase in her teaching career, the return to teaching local classes, to once again serve and empower the local yoga community which she has always loved. She and her husband, Ray, have lived in Hurricane, Utah for 21 years, where they often hike the scenic back country of Southwest Utah with their dog Bogie. She also enjoys organic gardening, baking and preparing creative plant-based foods and integrating Yogic and Buddhist teachings into her personal life. [email protected] FB: enilseInnerLightYoga .
