About

In 1978, the year after the release of Stars Wars: A New Hope, Eric had a PE teacher who was so profoundly impacted by the concept of “the Force” he began having his class try meditation.

Exploring consciousness became a fascination. In a culture stripped of shamanic tradition, he attempted to expand himself through psychedelics as a young adult. On one particular occasion as he went down a rabbit hole of dark thought loops, a friend took him aside and led him through a set of sun salutations. The profound effect of aligning breath movement and mental focus never left him. This experience became foundational when he entered his personal recovery journey from drugs and alcohol. The discipline of Yoga reshaped his life profoundly. In 2018 He received his RYT-200 in Kundalini Yoga from Delta Groove Yoga. In 2021 He received a second RYT-200 in Hatha Yoga from The Yoga Maya School in Ann Arbor MI. Eric also has a Reiki level 3 attunement and has completed the 12 hour Prison Yoga Project training "Introduction to Yoga and Mindfulness in Prisons and Jails." Eric's classes focus on Yoga as a full system for physical, mental and spiritual development. They are non-competitive, focusing on building strength and flexibility. Not only in the body but the spirit. He strives to be accessible for any student no matter their ability. You can expect skillfully guided Asana, pranayama and meditation. Occasionally he hosts Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath events and Reiki shares often in collaboration with friends and special guests..
