About
Gail received her 200hr Certification in Teacher Training through AYTT (Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training, Halifax, NS) with Jody Myers and Silver Frith in June 2008, however began practicing Yoga on her own in 1993.
She has since, been deeply inspired by the Kripalvananda lineage. Prior to that she was a Fitness Instructor certified through the YM/YWCA and taught at various locations including what used to be 'Halifax Parks & Rec'; The 'Spa' at the Interlude in Dartmouth; and the YM/YWCA. Her 500 hour accreditation was received at the Amrit Institute, Florida. She enjoys artwork, stained glass, wood crafting, songwriting, & performing. "be all you can be, do what you love, love what you do, practice self-less service."Other Mentors worth crediting are Jean Short (Chair Yoga); Brad Surette (Reiki Master); Mike Munro (TAYS, Nova Scotia Health & Promotion); Coeli Marsh (the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women & Sport & Physical Activity); Amrit Desai & John Heister (Chandrakant) at the Amrit Institute in Salt Springs Florida; WAH! (Discovery Yoga in St. Augustines, Florida); Kofi Busai (Kripalu Ctre., Massachusettes); Krishna Das (Sivananda Ashram, Nassau, Bahamas) and of course Swami Kripalvanandji whose lineage Gail aspires to share and prolong as much as possible. Her own studio, initially named 'inspire yoga' before morphing into 'an inspired path', has hosted a variety of workshops facilitated by such wonderful Guests as Yogi Yogendra Mishra (Rishikesh, India), Monique Ryan (Serpentine Studios), Yvonne MacCor (Ayurveda Specialist), Sean Drohan (host of Eastlink TV's 'path of yoga'), Mandee Labelle (host of Yogaheart radio CKDU & yogaheart yoga Owner/Operator), Jody Myers (Yoga Dance, Founder of AYTT), Silver Frith (Primary Faculty at AYTT), Krishan Verma (Owner of Happy Turtle Yoga), Veronica Sherwood (Owner/Operator of 'Hidden Space Yoga' Halifax); Anna Horsnell Wade (Artist, Cow Bay, NS); Michi Morioka (Laugher Yoga, Japan); and Susi Hately Aldous (Functional Synergy) to name a few.Gail spent a few years as Radio Host of Seaside FM's 'An Inspired Path', a Thursday morning 15 minute revelation on all things yogic created and produced by her. Also, she led the 'Chair Yoga' episodes on Eastlink TV's THE PATH OF YOGA thanks to the generous invitation from host Sean Drohan. Her classes at a local Long Term Care Facility (Oceanview Manor) helped residents find new ways of moving and breathing; and she has volunteered at many events and fundraisers such as The Woodlawn Library's Seniors Afternoons.Continuing education with the 'Yoga Thrive Program' based out of Calgary Alberta (focused on yoga and its positive affects on battling cancer) brought new insight in many ways, as did the Palliative Care Yoga she shared with one dedicated student; as well as her dear Mother who passed away from ALS in 2019. It is the personal experiences that teach us the most. RIP most beautiful beings. She thanks the many students and informal teachers who have touched her heart, as well as her gracious and giving parents and beautiful daughter. Tuesday evenings you will find her leading 'Mindful Flow' at THE YOGA LOUNGE, in Shubenacadie, NS. More classes and workshops are t.b.a. (May 2026)She notes that without her best friend, Musical/life Partner Wayne (who helps provide a warm Kirtan experience wherever invited) the yogic connections appreciated above most likely would not have happened. Praise God from whom all blessings flow ...
